DEPRESSION
The Black Dog
The very worst thing about COPD is not the shortness of breath.  Believe
it or not you can get used to it as long as you take things easy.  With
exercise your muscles take up the slack and you can do more with less
Oxygen.  The worst thing is what Ernest Hemingway called "The Black
Dog", the anxiety and hopelessness that often accompany COPD.  It's far
worse than the Disease itself and it happens to nearly all of us,  The
feeling of absolute despair when you wonder "how long can I fight this
disease?"
